"Still Life With Clock"

$1,000.00

acrylic on canvas, 24” x 24”, (framed 30” x 30”), 2023, Abbotsford, BC

Sometimes the objects in my paintings are representational of moments, or traits in my life. For example, the placement of my mother’s bible in this painting represents my faith in God. The flowers and glass the fragility of life. The mechanical clock and it’s ticking represents my mechanical Aortic valve, and it’s audible ticking through the passage of time. The bracelet represents my wife and the love she has for me: she gave it to me. And finally, the pepper shaker just represents my love for spicey food, which I can’t eat anymore, it is simply comic-relief as I find it ironic.
